I had a brief word with Paul Evans last night and he alluded to the fact that it'll all be sorted by Tuesday when asked whether we'd see him next year.

We defo need to sign Corr. Don't think Sturrock is up to League one level, so will be interesting to see who luggy signs as a partner to Corr.
Pook is definately not up to league one level. Zaboub and Peacs, Evans if fit and Roberts ain't a bad start in midfield.

Personally reckon someone like Jo Kuffour (sp) could do a job up there. scored a few in a relegated team this year, got pace to burn, loves playing on the shoulder of the last man and a clinical finisher

He's like a better Eric Sabin. In the right side in league 1 I think he could cause havoc. Remember him coming on against Bournemouth in the game where it was played at Dorchester I think. Of course the memory of that game was hearing the sound of Keith O'Halloran's leg snapping. Ouch.

We were talking about Kuffour at the weekend - whilst he'd do a job, he's just not Sturrock's type, so to speak.
Hadn't thought about Jerel going on a free! jesus....I hope we offer him something he can't turn down - he's worth a punt for a strong League 1/Championship team and fast defenders down come about too often at this level.
Out Jerel and Coughlan alongside each other and I'd be happy.
Pook - not fussed - maybe Sturrock's conidering Steve Adams (after his comment about players who'd helped him out before) and in which case, he'd be for the chop. Saying that, he'd be cheap and adequate backup.
Keep Nicho - done the job - won the league - we don't need a clearout.
Only players who I'd be shwoing the door would be Noubissie (PS didn't see him as good enough when Smith was injured, so why keep him on?), Wells, Shakes, Brown,
Don't know anything about Gnapke - keep Paul Evans, Blair (will still do the work even as a squad player), Roberts (bonus -driven deal...he needs the motivation), Jerel obviously, Jack Smith...
Bring in Coughlan, a proven striker (easier said than done)
I'd even keep on Westwood - does the job at right back, cover at centre back

Lets be honest ,goalkeeper is the only position we're really sorted with players good enough for league one

Jack Smith said on Saturday he's sorted for another season...
I asked Ricky Shakes about 3 matches back and he was too optimistic in my view so he's as good as gone....

I get the feeling that Sturrock stopped all contract talks, but has since told one or two people 'not to worry' or words to that effect.
Those will be sorted with new contracts by the end of today I think, the others will be in negotiations a little bit longer....

Keepers are sorted.
I'd keep all our current defence (including Westwood), maybe look to get another right back in though. This has been the best part of our game this year.
Midfield I would get rid of Shakes and Pook (Hewlett mkII). Would keep Brown and Roberts as back-ups. Need to get in a new right winger. I'd even keep Weston, but I think he'll be off. Try and make a crazy bet with Oxford which we are guaranteed to win, so they have to sign Whalley as forfeit.
Try and sign Corr up front, keep Peacock and get rid of Sturrock. Sign 1 or 2 more strikers depending on who else we can get in and if Peacock/Roberts may be used up front.
I wouldn't change too much to start as if Sturrock gets the lads playing his way I think we'll do ok.

Lets be honest ,goalkeeper is the only position we're really sorted with players good enough for league one I'd say Brez is good enough for League 1, Smith good back up. Defensively Ifil and Vincent are good enough centre halves, Nicho and Smith should be ok to start league one, we'll see how that pans out. Midfield-forward is where we will struggle. Not being able to freely score in League 2 does not give me confidence of our offensive duties in the league above.

Spoke to Jerel Ifil about a month ago asked if he was still driving in from the Watford area. Said yes but he was looking to move closer to Swindon next season. Draw your own conclusions!!

I think keep Adi Williams as player coach and keep Pook as he has done a job at this level so probably good enough squad player, I hope Weston stays but I think he will be gone

I saw Ifil in town yesterday morning, looked like he'd been out for a paper and some milk so he may already be living in the area.
