sussex currently 259 for 3 goodwin made 134, yardy (why isnt he at the world cup? )

a) he can't bat fast enough for odis full stop

thats rubbish, ive seen him smack the ball all over the place at a far quicker pace than any of the current twatts are doing

b) he had a go at the top of the order for england in the icc trophy and was so out of his depth it was embarrasing

bollocks he had a few dodgy decisions and im sure given time (eg bell) he would be a huge asset

c) he bats 5 for sussex, he's nowhere near collingwood's quality

sometimes, he also opens depending on what is needed, not doubting collingwood but should replace dalrymple in squad

d) won't score enough runs to bat higher than that, can't score quickly enough to bat lower

utter shite boeta and you know it Cheesy

a) yardy has never even scored a domestic hundred

b) he averages under 20. thats less than giles. so ashley giles is a better one-day batsman than yardy

c) yardy's odi strike rate is 38, thats worse than vaughan, joyce and strauss even though they can't get the ball off the square

d) last season in one-dayers for sussex, yardy batted at no. 5 nine times, at no. 4 once, no. 8 once, no. 9 once, number 6. twice. that is not sometimes opening. and the reason? he doesn't bat fast enough.

e) show me a one-day innings where he batted with a strike rate of over a 100? not once, thats embarrasing. looking at it it would seem his one-day strike rate last season was about 55. shocker

i still think yardy's a decent player - if you put his first-class batting and one-day bowling together you'd have someone who deserves a run in the england side. but he just isn't quite good enough

but you what really made laugh? yardy and bell compared in the same sentence    the country's technically ugliest batsman with the best, with most aesthetically pleasing

Yardy Retired Hurt on 99. Unlucky.
Is that in sympathy with Fred's shiner?

benning's a good striker of the ball, seemed a bit too reliant on the cut though which is not fed at international level in quite the same way as county plodders will do. anyone seen more of him know more of his technique?

you can look at all the stats you want, but yardy was one of the major reasons sussex won everything last year.
