Ultimately, football is totally illogical and past results count for nothing. There was no way on earth Stockport should have lost 2-7 at home to Rochdale but it happened. Similarly, just because we lost 0-3 at Stockport doesn't mean we can't go to Rochdale and win.
Of course football is
not totally illogical, it is just not completely logical.....past results reflect certain patterns of behaviour, chance and circumstances, which may explain certain outcomes.
In any given game its not predestined that there will be a certain outcome, its just more likely that the outcome will follow the pattern described by pevious games, if circumstances are roughly similar.
