before we praise the board and Sturrock, lets not forget one of the reason we need new loan players in, is because we got rid of so many players in January to start with....
...which may or may not have contributed to the fact that we are no longer in the top 3.

With respect, we didn't off load any first team regulars in January.

I wouldn't be surprised if Sturrock wishes he could've off loaded a lot more!

Well apart from you know who....although he wasnt one of Sturrock first team regular anyway....but he was for Wise.

Anyway its important to have a squad and we had a better one in December than we did in Feb.....

I know its a difficult time to buy, but Sturrock was talking about long term signings and weve ended up signing 5 players until the end of the season. Its hardly commitment to the team. Its a panic buy to try and halt our alarming form.

If it gets us up then fair play. But Im so sick of loan players. Promoted or not I want 11 STFC players in august. Thats the only way to make long term progress.

As for Sippo's comments, as if this board could be any more short termist?

The transfer window for permament signings closed in January so it had to be loans.  Corr is all set for a permament move in the summer, I guess the others he is taking a look at with a view to signing them, although I doubt whether the kid from Man City will be available.

Ok we will see - surely one of them will be good and lets face it the competition isnt great - BUT getting players in doesnt mean they are good players .. and besides who says we are paying out anything for these players - they all seem quite average signings to me ... I hope not but it appears so.

floghorse For fucks sake how can you judge average signings before they have joined us you fucking clown.

Jimmy Davis, Sam Parkin, Rory Fallon could have been called average before they came here because they were unknown quanities.  Let them play a few games before judging with your superior knowledge and for fucks sake sack your sources they saw none of these coming  :wanker:

firstly I never claimed to have superior knowledge

secondly I cant reveal everything my sources tell me

thirdly I actually agree with you that they cant be judged yet - hence the wording they SEEM quite average

Davis, Parkin and Fallon werent average - they were well thought of prior to arriving

Time will tell - Dont get me wrong I hope they are all bloody brilliant and Ill be the first to say so if thats the case.

Davis was unheard of - a man utd youth player - the same could be said of Grimes.

Fallon - my mate from barnsley said he was known as Bambi because he could only fall over, and none of them rated him at all - it took pretty much 6 months for him to do anything here.

Parkin - again good heritage, but a series of mediocre loan spells - could easily have been a Neale Fenn or Shayne Bradley

IMHO the end of the season will signify how sucessful these loans have been, I'm just pleasantly surprised we've bought in a nice variety of players causing competition for places.  I does of course mean at least one loanee misses out every match - on Sunday it's easy though cos Timlin is suspended.

I think the loanee who will miss out is likely to be westwood

You reckon Macca? - I guess it depends on the injuries, I think the new Frenchie might miss out, as Westwood looked quite good against Accy - depends who he wants to play along side Jerel - who TBH will probably sit out two more matches in the next few weeks with on booking needed.
