In my village the local pub does St Patricks day, just like every other pub, cos they get shit loads of freebies from the breweries. They also do St Georges day, Cross of St George bunting, flags. the works. Mind you, we don't have to worry about upsetting ethnic minorities in sunny Somerset, as the haven't found their way here yet (Mostly) Apart from Mr and Mrs Tang, who run the takeaway  |

I'm English but am part Irish too and respect my Irish heritage. Not bothered about St Patrick's Day but I have close Irish family that live over here and will be going out with them, because they'll get me pissed for free.
I shall also celebrate St Georges day so who really gives a fuck? People can do what they want ffs.
Every year we have this debate on this forum, why should I feel bad for being proud of where I was born and where my family come from?

No reason whatsover. The original rant was aimed at English people with absolutely no connection with Ireland who celebrate St Patrick's Day but not St George's Day. You clearly do not fall into that category. So carry on celebrating and please please please don't feel bad  :guinness: |

If you read the post stupid you will see that no-ones has a problem with IRISH people celebrating as it's there day. What gets people backs up is that english people celebrate it with such vigor and that pubs etc do so much for saint paddies day and so little for st geogres day. nothing agaisnt the irsh has been said christ your thick!
if only all the english peole celebrating on saturday did the same for saint geaogres day it would be oaky and that is where the problems lies
next time you call people cunts i suggest you read all the post. otherwise you end up looking a cunt yourself

I have a few drinks on St Patricks day, love the black stuff, have a few Irish friends, have no problem getting merry, any excuse for a drink or two.
Likewise on St Andrew's day, a couple of whiskey's slip down the throat on that evening, to celebrate my Scottish blood.
St George's and St Daffyd's day I do nothing.
