you should've ventured away from the Pyramid a bit more, Phil, line-up wasn't that good on there this year.

Went to the John Peel tent, a couple of times, & not dissapointed,  Went to the Other stage, and whilst CCS were shall we say very entertaining, thought the Klaxons were crap, (only because not my kinda music, one of the guys we were with reckoned they were great. But yes you're right about the pyramid .Friday in particular was not too impressive (my Opinion Only). Must say though that Sunday there was great, (but maybe I'm just showing my age).
The most surprising acts for me were the Arctic Monkeys who were not very good (bit like Oasis were dissapointing a couple of years ago (imho), & Shirley Bassey, who I only saw, cos I couldn't be arsed to move. (too pissed by then), but I thought was great. (Some bloody good lungs for a 70 year old).

Being a real oldie, I only watched bits on the telly, but I thought Shirley Bassey was brilliant, she had the audience in the palm of her hand!! AS you say for a 70 year old (and a bit more?) good lungs, and I would!!

Did anyone else find the extra number of people really sowed down moving between stages?

Amongst all of the mud and general state of people it’s never a quick move but we found it really congested even moving off the main routes and by the time we arrived at the next set it was already mid-way through.

Very few hippies there as well this year

Difficult to tell with the extra numbers, but I think it was the conditions more than anything.

Just look at the ticket prices, no self-respecting hippie can afford that on his dole money - and buy his necessary!!!

gone are the days when the hippies would ring up a week after the tickets went on sale and get a ticket, they need a PC and internet now, which they don't have which has put them all out of the market. i personally would love to see more hippies at glastonbury, that's what it's all about! i've been the last 5 times now and it's getting more and more commercialised.............. i still love it though!!
