Having a Trust with closing in on 1000 members means a voice has now been fully established.  If 1000 people turned up on a Matchday behind the Arkells we'd be on the main news, so that's the kind of size and magnitude such a membership base has behind it.  Even our board can't fail to realise they must now produce.  The worse case scenario of no change in shareholding still leaves us better off then 5 months ago.  People now know something can be done, that take it or leave it is no longer the option, that when we are disgruntled people may actually have to listen (even if not act).

I can still see no way for the club to go it alone on the development of the CG and expect to get buy in from everyone needed, so again a 1000 strong Trust with a well thought out and locally supported proposal suddenly becomes needed!

Fuck me, where I work less than 10% of the workforce is unionised, yet they still exert incredible influence.  Imagine what that would be like with 20% membership as the Trust now probably has (5000 would be a very high estimate of the hardcore support for the club).

Mine is about 3% Rob and they get more representation at management meetings, so disproportional it's unreal.

They get listened to with fervour as well

Shadow Board = yes, effective and worthwhile = not really.  It was a talking shop as I remember, with no real influence and not given any powers at all.

Difference being union members always have employment law to fall back on, so at least have some leverage.

Fans don't matter - if our opinions counted for anything in the eyes of the board we wouldn't have this debate at all

I just meant that we do have someone there who would come in and take control of the club. And do a good job. Surely that exerts pressure.

The current board are desperate for it to stop. Issueing deadlines and ultimatums. I say ignore them and keep building the pressure. Things are ticking along nicely.

Yep, I was talking about a Shadow Board the club introduced in the early/mid 90's that had little real reason for being and no real support behind it.
