Nice one Fred
Either that or trying to find his steel toe capped boots ready for the next shift up the works. Tongue  :old:

There used to be an air raid shelter in the neighbours garden where I lived as a kid....it was a kind of brick lined bunker in a hole in the ground with a bit of concrete facing protruding above the lawn..it was good fun to play in especially as they had 3 girls in the family.....

Eventually they knocked it down when they finally felt the war was over, .......about 1964.

The steel toe capped boots were only ever worn with the Levis and braces, thank you.

The hooter was an awesome thing....its hard for me to think that there's probably a generation of Swindonians now who've never heard it

Originally I believe Lord Bollingbroke over at Lydiard used to complain that it disturbed his sleep.

I recall with sadness the last blast, 1985 springs to mind but not sure, stood  in the garden, the passing of an era.

We have lived in Stratton all our lives Reg, and I can remember it waking me up as a small kid at 7.15

Sorry, must have got the wrong idea. (Not at the meeting).

Did he mean the actual hooter, or a recording?

A recording, played just after a Swindon goal, would be really good IMO.

Oh.

Well he's obviously coming up with ideas that have no chance of working.

And ideas that haven't been fully explored before being made public.

Therefore making himself look a bit of a knob.

He must be settling in well at the club.....................................
