Kightly from Grays to Wolves is another good example of Non-Leaguers jumping divisions.

I guess the conference is now a good level to show what you can do without wasting away in League One reserves on a one year contract.

Yeah I thought Knightly was good in Pirates of the Carribean too. Quite a step up.

Hey I am bored and I am pissed off which is why turning a thread about to a player who won't be joining us into inane ramblings is cheering me up.

Nothing seems to be going right this week. Think I will have to get hammered at the weekend to make up for it.

Conference best players are out of our rpice range now the precedent has been set by Wolves and Peterborough - Kightly went fo god knows how much - MacLean for 100k, Boyd for 260k, Mackail-Smith for over 100k.

I'd rather Luggy held on and got his targets in, rather than those on the reserve list.

i'm becoming genuinely concerned that we're not going to find the striker we desperately need, transfer fees will be nominal which rules out a huge number of players.

without a proven striker of quality we could miss out on promotion.

I agree Sonic, the old fox in the box is what we need.  Having seen us saturday I can't help but think Cureton or SSP type player would've won us the tie.  I know they are very hard to find especially at the right price but I do worry for our promotion hopes without.  I'd have thought our league position would have meant that players realistically could hope that their stay in League 2 would be a short one!

Surely though if we get a fox in the box, there's a real danger he might eat the rabbit in the hat?

 You get conference players going to league 1 and championship level why should they go to league 2 when they can go higher. Same as league 1 players why drop down a league for half a season only to go back to league 1. half the players that go to league 2 are only there because they are cheap and crap (in Franchise its cheap crap and divers).

===STFC STATEMENT===

The club is both angry and frustrated that Trust STFC an in particular Paul Davis felt the need to meddle in the fundamental nature of the food chain, with regards to recent specualtion regarding foxes and rabbits.  The club wish to make it clear that the Wills family rabbit 'wee willie' has been traumatised by these comments, and that all gossip regarding a special Burns night rabbit hagggis for Paul Sturrock is purely speculation, which the club are urging fans to distance themselves from, they see it as a personal attack on themselves, their advisors and their rabbit and have threatened to continue issuing misleading statements ad infinitum until the fox in the box has been captured and dealt with.
