Also Sturrock moans we can't defend corners, well why doesn't he do something about it then, he's the manager so get it sorted.
My guess is that he is working on this daily in training but I suppose it doesn't just happen overnight. I mean it won't will it? It's going to take a bit of time. Don't you reckon? also what else can he do once he has told them what he wants in traing.personally i would fine every player in the box if we concede from set pieces Naaah, too gay. Horse whip 'em

Palace get a corner and he brings everybody back, why? surely we should leave someone up field so we can get the ball out.
He actually answered that one in the fans' forum I think. He basically said he was playing percentages. He said that you could leave one player up but the chances were that he would not get the ball any way so you might as well have that player back behind the ball helping to get it away. I can see the logic of that. Yeah but by leaving say your worst defender up field it means the opposition have to leave an extra player or 2 at the back also reducing there attacking options. Most other teams seem to leave players up field and the Wednesday fans didn't understand it either if I remember rightly

I don't get it either, but then I've never got a football league team promoted apart from on Football Manager. Every manager has his little foibles, even Sir Alex, so I don't think let it worry me.....yet

I agree to a certain extent, but some of GlosReds comments are valid IMO. 13 games is quite a time to get things sorted. Unfortunately, the way I see it, is certain players loose concentration and "switch" off for a second which gives a clued up forward all the time he needs to peel off and find space etc. Mental strength and agility may take more than 13 games to resolve

There's not much Sturrock can do about players 'switching off' is there?
Apart from replace them that is. Once they cross the white line and all that.
Let's see how he changes thing round in the transfer window, after which time it will be much more 'his' team.

Anyone have any links to any palace forums i dont seem to be able to get onto any.
Be interested to see what they thought of us today http://forums.cpfc.orgThought you were very good, played some nice football (at times nicer than we've seen from our own team this season, which is rather sad ) Defensively imo, you never looked that comfortable and Kuqi should have wrapped up the game when he instead blazed high and wide. A good cup tie

I agree, great tie .............. dissapointed to be out obviously but thought we gave a damn good showing of ourselves. Im probably the only one that will say this but I bet the atmosphere at your place is awesome with a full house. Enclosed stands, seats all the way down to pitch level etc. (you should have seen what we had to put up with at Franchise last week :chunder: Anyway..................thanks for visiting and all the best in the next round, was saying to my mate on the way home you would probably get a prime home tie against premiership opposition. Always our luck Cheers !

Disappointing turn ot from the home fans given the cheap prices but atleast it gave us a good cance to sing our hearts out!
