Who was responsible for the VAT cock up??  isnt it good business practice to do the following:-

Sales = £117,500 (for ease of maths)
VAT value of sales = £17,500
 2 transactions, 1st = £100,000 to cashflow accounts
2nd = £17,500 (minus Vat paid out) to VAT account

What the person did:

sale: £117,500
1 transaction = £117,500 to cashflow account

roll on a few months.......

VAT MAN: hello do you have my VAT money?
STFC person: Oh shit I forget about that???
VAT MAN: WHAT THE FUCK

Seriously, if I had an investment in a company and this happened I would personally sue them and not be 'behind them'

In all seriousness though, poor Sandy bless her 'forgot' about the VAT account. Alledgedly.
