I've heard rumblings it will be First Great Western, a local company, currently sponsors a pitch side advertisement at Readings Ground as well. Could well be looking to bang their name on a clubs shirt.

Surely Farepak Hampers would be more appropriate?

i really can't see honda wanting to sponsor us, they're an international company - what appeal will a smallish local club have?
this might also be a perfect opportunity to find sponsors for the back of the shirts and shorts as well. i hate the way it looks but if it brings money in...

Honda have got a really good opportunity here to promote themselves to a wider market. I feel that if they turn down an opportunity to sponser the club they will be kicking themselves when they watch the Championship on a sunday morning, see the name off another company and realise that they've lost the opportunity to get their name to the millions watching telly. Added to that, imagine the cachet of being linked to such a marvellous organisation as Swindon Town.

after honda's frankly bizarre advertising campaign about Swindon being some kind of tree lined car drivers utopia a couple of years ago, you'd think they would put their money where their mouth is.... (unless they realised that the whole campaign was rather laughable)

I heared possibly Honda Ralphy would wank himself blind if that happened. he'll wank over anything i'm betting. especially after Ash took him to a lap club in Swindon and blew over £200 in there

Everybody has heard of Honda, and nobody will buy one just because they are on the Swindon shirt! I think either of those would be good though

Who drinks Holsten Pils these days? But Spurs fans did because it was on their shirt.

I heared possibly Honda I would be absolutely staggered if that happened. Not to say it won't though, as major car manufacturers have (and indeed still do) support clubs. Opel (GM) used to sponsor Milan, and IIRC Toyota currently sponsor Valencia - there were/are probably others - Aston Villa/MG? Its fair to say we ain't in that league! You don't see Nissan sponsoring Sunderland, or Toyota sponsoring Derby County, despite both manufacturers having major facilities in those cities, ergo Honda with Swindon. I would love to see it happen, but in reality, its more likely to be a local motor dealer than a manufacturer.
