I suppose 'success as a coach' could be open to debate. He got Mansfield into the play offs and us as well of course.

But 'I'm a good coach' and 'I know what I'm doing'

I think he could do a job for them. He only lost control at Swindon when the money got ridiculosly tight. Even with a small budget he got us into the play-offs, so despite being far from my favourite person in the world, he did ok in some ways.
