Benhaceker is now manager of Polish national team . Dziekanowski and Benhacker met first time in the summer....
Yep...Dziekanowski played in Bristol City - the club you hate the most  Wink
Abbot is half-Polish . He has Polish citizenship . He played in u-21 Polish squad , but his dad is Englishman . He has also a brother , Billy...Billy used to play in Kujawiak Włocławek . Now somewhere in non-league...I think Brehsteamed or something like this...

EXCUSE ME POLISH MAN. I appreciate your interesting polish inserts and footballing knowledge. Your english is also impressive. BUT DON'T RUIN MY WORST STRIKERS THREAD BY TALKING ABOUT LEO BENHAKKER!

Sorry I've just been asked and I tried to answer....
Now I will be quiet...If any interesten pm me...

Don't take it to heart Bartek.....normally these threads are ruined by someone discussing STFCBird's gaenocology or stating the bleeding obvious......I regard it as challenge to acquaint myself with Polish non league football, and I'm sure there may be one or two others who feel similarly

How can you list Colin Gordon amongst the worst Swindon Town strikers?  He was lured from non-league football by Lou Macari -  from Oldbury Town or somesuch, & then proceeded to score 18 goals in the Division 4 Promotion Team before moving to Wimbledon (the proper 'Dons') for £100,000!  True, he wasn't Pele but he did his job, effective but not pretty and earned us good money.  Oh, for his like today.

Incidently, he's now Theo Walcott's agent & probably making a bomb.

Shaun Close without doubt. We actually paid about £80,000 for him

Correct.....you can't really count strikers who come in on loan for a month, its something and nothing .....Proctor may have looked crap, but scored a couple, which is what strikers are meant to do.

The likes of McAvennie had been a top class player, and probably only played a couple of games.

Shaun without doubt was the daddy.....as he was our player, cost money, was in a decent side that created loads of chances, was given support by the fans and was utter shite.

Chris Guthrie and Mickey French were decidedly poor.

Bizarrely in my years of watching the Town, we've usually been quite well off for strikers or goalscoring forwards....right up to Fallon last season.

Bit harsh on Guthrie,Reg?Top scorer with 14 in his first season then We sold him to Fulham and he was top scorer there. Not blessed with skill I'll give you that, but he was like Peacock, only with goals!
