I'm sure I've played squash under the Arkells stand - until the person I told laughed at me ! Did they/have they got courts?

Yep....there used to be squash courts where the Alamo is now.  In their latter years suffered a bit from leakage, which tends to be a problem with a lot of things situated under an open stadium.......when the club had one of its problems with SBC, probably mid 80's, they cut a deal whereby in return for letting the Council build the Alamo....the club would lose the squash which was becoming difficult and costly to maintain, and write off some debt.

The Council wanted it because when they built the athletics track, they built no changing facilities or bogs etc.
