Sensible World of Soccer for me.
The original Football Manager was the greatest Management Sim ever.....in about 1985. Imagine playing it now!

Was Striker the game where you had to wait during the game for a chance then use the angle thingy to shoot? Some games would go by without even one chance??

I used to love microprose soccer where you could zig-zag up the pitch and always score. was playing virtua striker the other day on the x-box.....that truly is a shit game!
Does anyone remember football director on the bbc computer? Got to be one of the best games ever!

CM2 is my favourite - the ability to play a whole season in about 2 hours is the appeal.
As for playing as players, SWOS was great - the ridiculous aftertouch being the highlight.

Thats the one. How did you manage to get it onto your PC? I'd love to be able to play on that again. Many a good hour as a kid. Also remember if you just clicked on load game it was a cheat and got you into europe.

Also remember if you just clicked on load game it was a cheat and got you into europe. Easy. Download the bbc emulator from here.. http://www.mikebuk.dsl.pipex.com/beebem/install it Then goto http://www.stairwaytohell.com/index2.html and scroll down (it's a fair way down, think they've got nearly every bbc game ever) until you find football director. download it and unzip it to where you installed the emulator. open up the emulator, load up the disk hit shift+break and you're away. I think f12 pretends to be the break key. Oh and if you want to save you're game you have to un tick write protect disk 0 in the file menu -> disk options. I lost my first game like that. I played a couple of seasons this evening. I was a bit shit to start off with.
