Could we play the bloke on the right?

I know he ain't know winger, but his balls into the box were better than Shakes'. He also has the pace and the confidence to take people on.

I think we should give him a chance as a right winger, or is that a bit or a "King thing"?

Well I would say that as virtually everyone was slating him before he had even kicked a ball,  that Fola has done pretty well to win so many people over albeit not everyone - Yet.

He is surely a certainty to get signed until the end of the season I would have thought?

i was raving about him before the game based on friendly and reserve performances. last night he didn't look upto league football.

I think Roberts and PEacock need to play together because they are an effective partnership.

Fola is a good replacement to have and I would not be worried about him having to play

Huh?

He turned a full strength Brentford defence inside out on many occasions. Ok, he lacks a finish, but he only had one clear cut opportunity that I remember and that was his header from Brown's freekick in the first half.

A striker who "lacks a finish" - that's the one quality a striker needs!!!

I refer you all to this:

http://www.brentford.vitalfootball.co.uk/matchrep.asp?a=28165

Quote

On the face of it, you might think that the injury hit Bees survived a tough test from in form Swindon, and you would be right !
Swindon made a few changes with Aaron Brown, Andy Nicholas, Royce Brownue, Ashan Holgate and Fola Onibuje all coming into the team.

The Bees changed Mousinho for Skullason and Rhodes for Willock.
Osborne, Ide, Charles, Carder-Andrews and Sebastien Brown (gk) were on the bench

Brentford started brightly, and good wing play and interlinking between Brooker and Moore led to O'Connor placing a deft header into the far corner of the Swindon goal. O'Connor went off at half time for Osborne, after he failed to recover from the effects of an early head injury. However, not before the Bees went 2-0 up after more good passing play led to Joe Kuffour's 3rd of the season being slotted home after 25 mins.
Swindon, with Paul Evans, Ricky Shakes and Onibuje always a problem, fought their way back into the tie on 38 mins. A cross from the left, was flapped at by Nelson, not cleared by Griffiths and Heywood and Nicholas slotted the ball home from close range.

The second half was all action, both sides creating chances, but it was the home side who levelled the tie on 72 mins. Again the Bees failed to clear the ball, and an Evans wonder strike from the left hand edge of the area smacked the back of the net.

Both sides were not settling for penalties in extra time, Kuffour and Ide going close for Brentford, Griffiths clearing the ball from the line at the other end.
As the bookings mounted, Brownlie saw red for 2 yellows at the end of the extra time.

Taking the pens at the home end, Brentford faced a mountain when Tillen missed the target and pens from Evans and Ifil found the target.
Nelson then saved from Ashan Holgate while Curtis Weston fired over the bar, and successful Bees pens from Pinault, Heywood, Brooker and Nelson saw the away side through.

Swindon: Phil Smith, Jack Smith, Vincent (Weston 45), Ifil, Nicholas, Shakes, Evans, Holgate, Brown (Caton 69), Onibuje, Brownlie.
Subs Not Used: Pook, Jutkiewicz, Wells.

Sent Off: Brownlie (120).

Booked: Onibuje, Shakes, Ifil.

Goals: Nicholas 38, Evans 72.

Star man ; Onibuje - always a threat to the Bees defence, built like the Post Office Tower

Brentford:
Nelson 7- confident from crosses, but possibly at fault for the first goal
O'Connor 7-a good first half, driving the Bees forward
(subbbed by Osborne 45mins-8, best player of the second half, much more suited to right back, showing Brooker how to beat players and deliver)
Tillen 6
Heywood 5 -not mobile enough
Griffiths 6 -good and bad decisons in equal measure
Brooker 5 -no effect on the game, cool for the penalty though
Mousinho 6 -didnt look assured in centre mid
Pinault 6 -missed his recent centre mid partner
Kuffour 7 -battled and caused the Swindon defence problems
Moore 6 -not getting on the end of anything (subbed for Ide 58 mins, 6 immediately booked for a rash challenge)
Rhodes 7- a better game (subbed for Charles 111 mins)
Subs Not Used: Carder-Andrews, Brown.

Booked: Mousinho, Ide, Brooker, Griffiths, Osborne.

Goals: O'Connor 10, Kuffour 25.

Star Player
Karleigh Osborne, best player of the second half.

he can't head the ball, he's got an atrocious first touch and he couldn't finish a book.

hardly promising for a striker is it?

Maybe not SY, but I'd rather him than big Trev, wouldn't you?

Besides he's a forward, not necessarily a goal geting striker - which Brownlie is supposed to be - if we're judging players on one game then Royce wasn't worth a contract for me.  (Devil's Advocate)

He (Fola) did scare the crap out of their defence, if defenders are concentrating on him then others may prosper while they slip through un-noticed.

brownlie banged 'em away in pre-season and scored a cracker on his debut.

fola caused problems but looked as likely to score as an aids ridden cripple in a brothel.
