Just heard on Beeb Swindon that Ince will sign if the club can get around the 60% of turnover being spent on player's wages limit, which they currently are at.

So do we shoot Pook?

Pook you are the weakest link....

...Goodbye.

Although that won't free up too much on the wage bill front, so Whalley you can leave too.

if we shot pook, would we still have to pay his family the wages for the rest of his contract as compensation?

i suppose it'll see us offload someone, either on loan or otherwise. doubt it'll be gurney or whalley as nobody is going to take them whilst they're injured.

Yes Would have to be someone who's on a bit of a wedge already.

Unless they're trying to argue that the arrival of Ince would possible increase turnover, just the the arrival of Dennis and Gus has undoubtably (sp) done.

Surely there would be some kind of Death in Service payment i.e. 4 times his salary.  A lump sum payment payable to his nominated beneficiary therefore no further wages would be due.  As this is an insurance pay out it shouldn't count as an "income" pay out.  Problem solved, let's "delete" Pook.

Could we get round this 60% thing if Ince's wages were paid for by a donation from Bill Power or something like that?

If not then get rid of all our players and let Ince take on the rest of the league by himself!!!

what did they call it when they paid off ruddock, something creative like "office re-structure", maybe they'd get around it that way.

mind you if it was gurney to go then i'd happily chip in myself.

Whalley is my bet. He's disappeared.

Whalleys an ace player, get rid of Pook and Wells. Ince is probably asking for a big wage, i would if i was coming to the end of my football career.

Pook and Wells will be on peanuts, we'd need to free up some more money than that to pay for Ince.

Shouldn't this have been something we looked at a bit earlier, than say 24 hours before Ince signs?  I know Devlin and Power are out of action and the numpties are back running the club but this is crazy!

I guess he would be the easiest player to release because he's on the shorter contract.

Just listening to Wiltshire Sound now....

...Ince confirmed he wants to join.  Bob Holt says the 60% ratio a "big problem".  We have to approach the league to see what terms we need to satisfy to the requirement (the 60% limit).

Ince's term would push us over the limits.  Gonna take up to 72 hours to sort this out according to Holt.  Which means no Ince til Friday, at the earliest???

i also read somewhere that ince would only be looking to play 10-15 games, "just to keep fitness levels up".

it seems like we're paying a lot of money for an unproven coach, who just happens to be one of wise's mates - do we really need him?

gurney can still go, mind.
