Has anyone got any idea what it's like there? I'm going to be working there for 5-6 weeks (commuting to swindon at w/e though). Always got the reputation of being a shit hole. Is this justified?

Crystal Palace territory....haven't had any dealings with the place for years, but used to have a good reputation for shopping,  something that interested the bird I was seeing, but didn't do much for me.

i quite liked croydon to be fair. i think it was the reassurance that once 60% of the population there wanted to stab me instead of 90% where i lived in london

in the film after that game you see the shadwell fans walking up an alley way bit and then break the police lines etc etc.

imagine to our suprise after arriving in rotheram at 12ish last year traipsed around the ghost town and past numerous boarded up pubs, that we'd turn a corner and be at the top of that very alley. it was kind of like christmas just a bit better.
