i personally dont think the gerrard/lampard thing is a big problem at all really. they seem to have it worked out most of the time when one sits and the other one goes forward. Gerrards the better at tackling so id think hed sit just behind Lampard...he doesnt get forward as much but it also means he is hovering about 35/40 yards from goal to pick up the loose balls which may be half cleared (like say a certain paul ince in his day)

i honestly think it can work....only gerrard cant get forward as much as he does for the scousers.

Thing is, if you ask Gerrard not to get forward as much, you lose what Gerrard is about.  I think some tough decisions need to be made in the centre.  Bye bye Frank.

Jenas still there, I'm not keen, would rather Reo-Coker be given a chance.  Glad to see Campbell and James gone, lets get the younger players in and give them a chance.  And, finally and most importantly, SUPER PHIL IS BACK!

I disagree, I think they nullify each other's game - and if that's the case why not put gerrard on the right? he does it for the scousers?

I'll sum up in a few lines:

Defoe is ace, behave.
Phil Neville should never don the 3 lions ever.
Jenas is not an international
Whoever said 'drop Owen H' is obviously a fool
Gerrard + Lampard = Poorness
Richardson > Downing
At last, no Sol.

Phil Neville is God. Apart from that, I agree with you completely.

phil neville ain't that bad, and why is mowne hargreaves mr propular all of a sudden? One decent game and he's in everyone's team! Yes, he's a good player, he always has been - but is he better than gerrard, lampard, reocoker, carrick? No.

He's the best holding midfielder in the squad. And given that Lamps and Stevie should never play in the centre together, he gets my nod.

Hargreaves looked like the only man in the side at the WC, remotely interested in putting himself out for the fans.

That should be reason enough to start.....the rest of the overpaid overpampered prima donnas can go hang,  its also a disgrace that the FA have to fuck up the fixture list, to cater for a pointless friendly.

I've now got severe nostalgia for the days, in the 70's and 80's, when you could watch an England game in a pub and only another dozen were interested.....the majority of the great unwashed not being comncerned  about our habitual underperformers.

OK, I'll give you that about OH in the world cup - but the fact remains that the reason lamps and stevie don't play so well is becasue they can't play together. All I'm saying is put stevie on the right and have someone else, owen or reo or whoever, alongside frankie supergaols.

Frankie Deflectagoals...

I can see no sensible reason why anyone would suggest that in terms of goalgetability (can i get that in the dictionary?) that Defoe is worse than Ashton, Harewood, Crouch, Bent, Sheringham or Walcott. It's madness i tells ya.
