i think MK will be mid table they aint that good! money or no money they will be average! i think the biggest threat will be Walsall Mk have bought a lot of players and have a decent manager now. I think they will adapt to League 2 well. You say Wilson's a decent manager, but what has he actually done in the last few years? Under achieved that's what.

Oh yeah, forgot about that.
Same applies to him though, big reputation with little to show for it.

He's just a manager that the media like. Out spoken, always has an opinion to shout out, he's not that great. Just a bloke who's not scared of getting his face seen.
I'm not bothered about competing against Wilson and Allen's teams.

Come the end of the season, if we're not first, we'll be perceived to have underachieved (which is the annoying thing). Personally so long as we're not bottom half I will be content, but I'd be most pleased with top 7.
Basically what was said on the last page!

I don't go with this 'I'll be happy with mid-table bollocks'. I'll be borderline suicidal at anything less than top three - FACT!

Play offs will do me, Dennis has a big job on his hands getting the confidence back into the lads. Let's not forget how bad last season really was.
It's all down to how we start...
..come on fella's don't let us down!

The main aim of the season, has to be to show some progress....in a recent interview Lingy reckons of the leagues, there is least difference between L1 and L2, which is why the last 2 seasons the winner of L1 was in L2 previous season..
Last season we were very poor....we've lost some of those players, which is good, but still have a fair nucleus of substandard players.....its not right to expect Wise to turn this around overnight....he'll need to chip away steadily at getting out the deadwood, then crucially show the players he gets in are significantly better.
Still think a run all the way in the JPT and no flirtation with the Conference, would be a decent season from what he's starting from.

I'll be happy with 104pts, championship sown up by March, the new foundations of our 60,000 capacity stadium being laid on the former estate of Penhill (which was demolished to make way for the super-stadion in January 07) and Richard Branson finally taking his seat as Chairman just in time for the last match of the season (no offence BP).
Anything less then I'll be seriously fucked off.

I disagree with the "nucleus of substandard players" comment there Reg. I dont think that even last season there were that many who lacked any talent at all, but they lacked fitness , Leadership and in some cases motivation. I think anything less than play offs will be a major dissapointment

The players only looked sub-standard due to piss poor fitness and piss poor coaching. That's all changed now. We're going up Reggie baby, like it or not. Strap yourself in and enjoy the ride

I think anything less than play offs will be a major dissapointment There were times last season when some of our players....Smith, Ifil, Pook.Nicholas, Roberts, Brown, Whalley etc. lacked the talent to preform the most basic of football skills....eg kick a ball properly, control a ball properly, pass to a man in a similar coloured shirt...mark an opponent. I hope to be proved wrong, but can't see why these players should suddenly acquire these skills.....I'd prefer to see them leave and be replaced by competent players.

i have to agree with reg.
i wouldn't be happy with anything less than play-offs, but i'm trying to be realistic insofar as we got relegated because we were rubbish last season so it's simply not logical to expect us to go straight back up - who was the last team relegated from league 1/division 2 that got promoted the following season? i can't think of any, why should we be any different?
it's looking increasingly unlikely that wise and poyet will actually play this season so you can discount them propelling us up the table with their footballing talent.
as i said, i won't be happy if we don't go back up but i think you have to try and be a little realistic, it ain't gonna be a stroll in the park.
