There isn't any problem in signing people on 12 month contracts, provided it's not a policy and would therefore prevent the purchase of better players who wouldn't accept such a deal.

To that end, I don't think it's a policy, it's just the 2 players just signed have injury history, so maybe the 12 month part is protection for us, and they agreed to sign the deals.

Bit of a connection there as it looks as though Tuttle signed him for Millwall for his 2nd stint at the club.

Quote
Millwall have taken 30-year-old defender Jamie Vincent back to The New Den to act as cover for the suspended Tony Craig.

The move is a fresh chance for Vincent to prove his worth with the Lions after he joined them on a six-month contract last summer only to be blighted by a calf injury which hampered his chances of staying on.

He moved to League One outfit Yeovil Town, where he failed to make an impact, but boss Dave Tuttle has brought him back to south London following Craig's sending off in Saturday's 1-1 draw at Ipswich.

Craig will serve a two-match ban which means Vincent is set to be thrust straight into the starting XI against Leicester City.

Tuttle told the club's official website: "I'm pleased that Jamie has agreed to re-join us, because he will provide excellent cover on the left side.

"Tony's sending off for time-wasting was very harsh, because he was the innocent party."

Good experienced signing if not a little hindered with injuries of late.

There’s definitely the impression from the offset with his background and age that he could well have found himself a League one club this season  so it looks like a good deal.

left back?Huh?? what do we want one of those for?Huh? Where are the essential signings?? Goalkeeper - centre back - central midfield - centre forward?Huh?Huh?Huh?Huh?Huh?Huh?Huh?// :|

So you'd rather just get these players in for the sake of it now just because we know we need them?

Yes 'keepers are a must, but Wise knows that - there's two on trial now from what I can gather from his interview on STFCWorld, and another coming in later this week.

If Wise felt JV was a good addition (what with Nicho being shit and all) and was available now would you rather he told Jamie that he might sign him later as long as he can get x,y and z in such and such positions?  Do you really think he'd wait around?

Why are some people never happy?

Oooh, we're not signing anyone!!!!
Oooh, we don't need him, he's not a midfielder!

Fact is we need new faces in most positions, and players can't all just be unvieled at the same time just because you're impatient, there's more for players to think about than whether Fatbury from the Townend is happy.

You went out and got a season ticket just because Wise was appointed, you didn't make that commitment before and now you're already having a go because he hasn't signed exactly who you want, when you want - pre-season has just started, players are still on holidays etc, and Wise still hasn't had a proper oportunity to assess the squad.

Let's have a little patience shall we?!

I'd love Jan Vennegor of Hesselink to sign, but can't see it.

I know, in fact I had to save it on the hard drive because the internet connection lost itself while I was typing so
I had to re-boot.

I saved it as 'Fatbury Rant'  Cool

Another one year deal I see. I was hoping we might be getting players on slightly longer deals. Like two years for example.
Loving the way you felt the need for an example!

Without the example I would have been confused.
