Lineker just explained it. If we and Argentina both finish top of our groups then we avoid each other for the time being.

I suggest we go all out to beat Sweden Smiley

Yep, I think if we both win our groups we can only play the Argies in the final.

As winners we get Ecuador or Germany, then Portugal or Mexico or Holland it seems.  Then we get a semi against Brazil if they win their group and progress.

Obviously this changes if Holland win the group, then we could play Argentina in a QF -  or if the Argies win their group and we are runners up.

All if's buts and maybes though.

Okay so Argentina did play well, probably better than any team has so far.
BUT They were playing a team who looked clueless and gave away the ball and silly goals.

England have spent 180 minutes so far playing against teams with 8 men in defence, so aren't likely to have looked good. Brazil and France were worse than England from the performances so far.

I think the Argies have looked the best but when England start playing decent teams they will be able to pick gaps better with the opposition actually trying to attack. For our sake I hope France and Brazil continue as they left off, and I don't really see Holland as too much of a threat.
