I don't see how they could police it, wireless networks are fairly easy to hack and if they want the whole town to be enabled surely it has to be an open network so anyone can access it without needing a password?

I guess you'll have to pay for a password to the network?

I hope they don't use BT to provide it. My wireless router is more tempramental than a pre-menstrual teen.

without knowing the ins and outs, I believe something like this is already in place in South Korea, so may be worth checking out how they have installed it.

Next generation 3G - 3.5G (HSDPA) is where it's at.

I've got my sticky paws on one of firsty Sierra Wireless cards for my laptop and it's faster than broadband.  Only downside is that when it hits general release the data and connection charges are going to be like a twist to the scrotum.

Not sure why the Beeb have given Norwich such a good write up considering Bristol city centre has had this for nearly two years ..
