Mildy sold against his wishes?? Thats not quite true is it? Thought he was offered more money and he wanted to work with a club who had a goalkeeping coach, which we didnt have at the time, notts county did... ask him yourself..he DID want to leave but didnt he signed a new contract,2 days later the club told him they had accepted a bid for him

the fact that phillips & pogliacomi have been released shows there will be loads of half decent keepers available on a free, so whats everybody worrying about.
evans really ain't as special as everyone thinks. he'll be easily replaced.
blackpool isn't so bad, at least he gets to play on the pleasure beach :?

I don't blame Evans for talking to any club willing to offer a contract. He has to do what is best for him and his family, only an idiot wouldn't at least concider better offers and higher league football.
Why Blackpool? Quite, not really career progression but maybe that is all that is on offer. Some Tangerine on MOS said that there is some Latvian who has nearly signed on the line ready to invest significant (but not world conquering) funds into the club. And isn't one of thier players Evans friend.
In all honesty Blackpool itself is a fun place to visit but a dreadful place to live. It smells of wee and sick and has an unhealthy number of ladyboy clubs. But I bet there are nice places outside Blackpool to live.
In all we would be losing a good keeper (kicking aside). Sad, but IF we can get a half decent replacement the outfield problems are far more significant priority to resolve.

Yet another "loyal Swindon player" due to fuck off, I wonder how long before we " loyal Swindon fans" fuck off as well. ( I don't usually swear!)

Yet another "loyal Swindon player" due to fuck off, No such thing. Every player has a price. Every player has ambition to better themselves. We fans kid ourselves that the players think like we do, share our loyalty for a club. They lagely don't, and even when they do circumstances change and players move on (Smith from Leeds for e.g.)..

Come on guys, LGC is right, keepers from L1 and L2 are all much of a muchness really. If Rhys does go we will be able to offer a keeper a guaranteed starting spot, that's got to put us in a decent recruiting position.
Rhys is of course entitled to leave, he's got to ensure the future of his family, while playing at the best level offered to him.
Finally if he does leave it WILL NOT be Iffy's fault Fats, I honestly do not see why you are so anti-Iffy?
You seem to think that all his plans re fitness this close season are a token effort, it's widely regarded that our failier last season is partly (a large part) due to a complete shambles of a pre-season last term under King's regime.
Iffy hasn't gone out and signed a bunch of no-hopers like you think he is going to do, ffs give him a chance to put his own team together and stamp his authority and style on it!
Managers all start somewhere, your manager of choice (long ball Lou) started out here, I wonder how behind him you were then, or Ossie, or Glenn. It's not all about experience, look at Watford this season!

i agree with the pogliacomi thing. he'd be a good free transfer - i remember him making some cracking saves in the FA Cup. mildenhall's not getting many games, is he? he'd do.
