I can't help feeling England are playing this injury a little, I honestly wouldn't be surprised if Rooney made an amazing comeback from "injury" and was fit for the World Cup.

Bollocks Jan mate it's either broken (8 weeks out) or it isn't (bruised, 3 days out).

play gerrard behing owen with carrick/king in holding role...little point here rooney didnt score one goal in qualifyers and didnt score one goal in all champ league matches this year so we wont miss his goals..imo opinion gerrard can fill that role and is MORE likely to score from that position..in all honestly its a massive blow and im gutted so im clutching at straws good theory though i think Wink

Still say there is more chance of me playing in the World Cup than Rooney.

6 weeks was the minimum in a sunny day scenario. Bet it'll be more like 12 Sad

I'm forgetting all about Rooney. If Owen doesn't get fit we may as well not go.

You mean Crouch up front it is. Cool

I think it depends who we're playing, start with Crouch and Owen against some teams and play Gerrard, Lampard or Joe Cole behind Owen in the other games.
