We were briefly mentioned as possibles once the Reading bit fell over. One of our esteemed board members of the time refuted the nonsense, scoffing that we wouldn't go anywhere with "southern league upstarts".
Which was cool given that the Pox had gone from non-league to division one in just over twenty years, whilst we languished in the dungeon (division four). That told them!
