Hammond was utter, utter, shit.

I never forgave him for his horrendous cock up at Peterborough in '92 when we absolutely mullered threm and drew 3-3.

Worst keeper ever.  FACT!

What a nightmare that game was. As you said, we so played them off the park, had a perfectly good disallowed goal etc and it ends up 3-3. John Sillett on the commentary blamed some of it on Micky Hazard if I remember for passing it back or cocking up in midfield or something. My mate who I went with that day couldn't believe it.

And that was after a fantastic performance by him the previous month against Barnsley at home where after we went ahead in 4 mins through a penalty Hammond played a blinder to ensure we won 1-0, his best performance in my opinion.

I love how this topic has turned into a debate about Nicky Hammond. Cheesy Fucking ace. Sorry.

I thought Talia was ok to be honest, not in Digby's class but he wasn't so bad.

Talia was ok apart from his kicking which was bloody awful if I'm rembering ok.

Charlton away, end of the 99/00 (season we went down to where we are now). They were on some stupid run of games without a defeat and we beat them 1-0 with a steve cowe effort / their keeper own goal in the 4th min. For the rest of the game I remember Talia having an absolute stunner. Might have exagerated it in my head but possibly the best clean sheet I've ever seen.

In fairness, Tintin was superb in the Barnsley game and won us three points.  The previous week at West Ham was exactly the same (what a great day that was).

Apart from those two games though, he was dross.

If it's the game I'm thinking about in 1990 we were, I think it was the 94th minute when they equalized. And Kerslake got sent off in about the 2nd minute.

I hated going to Leicester in those days, we never seemed to get much.

I still remember watching that and wondering how Steve Cowe got credited with the goal. It was going out for a throw in ffs!

Soapy Tit Wank Hammond totally shit bar a few games, but still a bit of an icon.

Talia, however, for me will forever be remembered dropping a cross from a West Brom corner, and overall though improving in his last season here, being a highly dodgy keeper, much like Mr D James.
