Need a favour for a mate he wants to start his own business selling blokes clothing online but he’s a bit fucking clueless when it comes to doing research and often falls in love with a business idea and then won’t hear a word said against it.

Usually it goes tits up costing him a small fortune and its back to the job centre for 6 months until the next hair brained scheme.

This time I think he’s got a decent plan of attack.  He’s looking at a niche market importing well known but hard to get gear on the high street with a combination of the up and coming labels with a sprinkle of unknowns thrown in.

I need to know essentially do you currently buy clothes online?

If yes, where?
If not, why not?
What choo buy (labels), previous experiences etc appreciated….
Anything you’d like to see in a site/store

There’s a few pints in this for me and a possible stake if I lend him some start-up cash but I’m not entirely convinced that his planning and strategy is much cop.  I must admit I really only use one site www.asos.com  the rest, even the big high street stores have severely limited stock, are over priced and have a major lack of variety.

Personally I tend not to buy clothes on-line just in case its not right, wrong size etc.

There are a fair few on-line designer shops though. For example: asos.com; bbclothing.com; oki-ni.com; All you have to do is such through google. I think there would be too much competition. But thats my opinion.

Needs a lot of planning, ive bought quite a bit on line, mainly asos.com which didnt realise how popular it was.  Ive also bought from river island and topman.  Ive found both of these far too slow thats my only problem with it

Kind of, i only ever buy stuff that i cant get in stores
If yes, where?Bought two items on the net ever.  A pair of trainers and a tee shirt - both because they were not in any shops.
If not, why not?I would buy more if i had reassurances on size and a good return policy if it doesn't fit.  Also, i need to believe their a proffessional site - i would not buy off a site if i looked like it was done by an amateur - as i would believe i would not get the items.

I've used Oki-ni, noflysonus.com and arkclothing.com. Never had problems with sizing etc and generally good value for money. Clothes have been delivered within 4 working days and generally find clothing brands that you can only find in the shops in bigger cities.

For trainers I've used m&m sports and schuh online shop.

I think there are more market opportunites for this type of shop. The difficulty will be letting people know what you're all about.

only stuff i've bought online are band t-shirts, generally from djtees.com, kungfunation.com and bluecatstore.com.

being a gentlemen of slightly larger proportions, i'm wary of buying clothes online as sizes often differ greatly.

A bit like SY (but about a foot shorter I think ) I have trouble getting clothes to fit properly (especially jeans)  in shops let alone guessing online
