FIFA to compensate clubs for players going to the World Cup to the tune of £9k per player per day including preparation time.
If JW makes the squad then that could work out to be a decent pot to allow the club to invest in January.
Assuming that there isn't a clause limiting the payments to topflight clubs only.

Hopefully we have more to gain than our other league 2 rivals from this. Seems like vultures Charlton will benefit even more from their smash and grab asset stripping in the summer, as I assume JJW is off to the WC.

Oh I fully expect there to be clauses that limit payment to pauper clubs like ours.

Top flight football is suspended so its not compensation for their playing missing games. It is a genuine hindrance for teams like us so it should be fully justified

Any club that a player has been registered with in the two years prior to the World Cup will be eligible for a share of the daily payout. Sounds like we could get a percentage for JoJo too, notwithstanding Molepar's slightly odd rant about club's conducting normal transfer business!

I’m just annoyed at Garner and his dishonourable antics

Why would we get money for a player who doesn't play for us?

Some sort of 'development fee' type thing. Seems odd but who knows

The two year period to me suggests that there's some sort of compensation for the qualifying competition intended - although only if the team successfully makes the tournament?

Makes sense, so we'll get 2/3k and Charlton 6/7k maybe? (Wouldn't have thought it would be equal. 12k per day is a handy little windfall. It might help pay for someone to bring players lunches in the future maybe.

So, are we saying we’d get c£12,000 per day for JoJo and Williams for approx 4 weeks (2 weeks pre tournament) and 2 weeks actual playing time?
That’d be £360,000. Surely not.

It did say on Sky news that there was a maximum of approx £330k per player so sounds about right.

Wales getting out of the group then? The group is England, Wales, USA, Iran isn't it? I'd say Wales have a not impossible chance of getting out of the group. Could be a British 1-2.
