DVD Recorders - Question.

I fancy getting myself one of these.

The main thing I want to do is to put all my videos onto DVD to save them, save space etc.

Does anyone know - If I buy a normal recorder and then play a video through my VCR can I record that onto DVD or will it only record TV stuff. I have seen combined DVD/Video players which I presume will do the job but they're a lot more expensive.

Any help appreciated.

Yes, at a minimum you could play the video through the TV and record as you would a normal TV program.
