EASTLEIGH 2 SWINDON TOWN 0: Full-time report

SWINDON Town suffered their first defeat of pre-season at the hands of Eastleigh, as Lawson D’Ath’s early goal coupled, with a late header from Craig McAllister, settled matters at the Silverlake Stadium.

At least C***stubble didn't score, and hopefully Cooper realises that Gladwin is no more a centre half than he is a centre forward. Very ambitious down there and doing lots of building work there to improve ground but whether the layout is set up  in a way to cope with loads of away supporters arriving from likes of Rovers and Aldershot is doubtful with just one little country road leading to the entrance.

With Eastleigh being on my doorstep (well, if my doorstep was 4 miles long..), I have more chance of popping down there this season than up to Swindon for a game. I thought they looked very good. I was speaking to the chap in the shop when I picked up my 'Pre-season ticket' (5 games for £10, AFC Bournemouth, Swindon, Crawley, Northampton and Southampton)..the 'stand' that's being redeveloped is, indeed, built to house the away supporters..they look like a decent up and coming Conference side and wouldn't bet against them being there or thereabouts this year..
