It's difficult to recommend without having a vague idea of what you like - I'd say Rain Dogs is probably one of the more accessible, if lengthy, albums of his. You might like something from one of the more recent albums like Mule Variations or Real Gone

Some of the tracks are growing as i begin to get used to the album. I may take you up on the other suggestions. Always on the lookout for recommendations. Sadly my interest in music virtually stopped with change of jobs (less time spent in my car) and the birth of the kids.
Thanks for the advice though.

Time is a beautiful song and I bought Rain Dogs on the strength of falling in love with that song alone. It took me a long time to get into the rest of the album so I know what you mean... except for the Les Dawson bit.
