Am I the only one that sees some potential in Byrne? JMac is left footed but 90% of his crossing with his left foot are either shanked into the stand or hit too long. I personally think Byrne would have a lot to offer (more going forward than defending mind you) if we signed him.

Nathan Thompson ‏@nathan_t23 22h
One of the craziest seasons, full of highs and lows. Gutted for the boys, but we will put it right next year. To all the fans-thank you!

he lacks more than that. Stature, positional sense and a left  foot. Get rid.

Oi. Stop being so positive. Far more appropriate to read negative shit into the use of explanation marks and the like.

Agree Bobs....also it is nice to have a loan player who seems to give his all every match.

All of those issues could be addressed by moving him to the right wing. At the very least he'd be better than Ferry in that position.

Perfection is not attainable

I think Byrne has loads of potential, but I would prefer him in a wide midfield role rather than fullback but he is very versatile.

He'd  definitely play better as a right midfielder I think. It's nice that he's had that full-back training so he's more defensively minded than other wingers might be, but, if Caddis isn't off because Brum can't afford him, Byrne playing above him would be very good.

Byrne playing above Thompson would be good enough! Here's hoping that 'we' means something!

Not sure about him defensively, and its very different being a winger to a full back.

On the basis he doesn't cost to much i think he makes some sense as full back cover, but i'd have Thompson and McEveley as first choice full backs. With Macca then as utility thats full back covered
