Was Ferry playing on the right on Tuesday?

Didn't look ridiculously out of place either, unlike previous efforts.

Would still be happy if I never ever see him on the right though.

Was better on the right than he was in the centre at MK.

Obviously only a short term fit but it's not like we have any other options with Luke Rooney never getting a start leaving Roberts as our only real winger.

Maybe so, but it would be nice for him to get a start once in a while to prove that theory - he was superb off the bench at Coventry and set up the winner yet has barely featured since.

If by set up the winner you mean took the corner. I wouldn't start a player on corner taking ability alone.

I think with Ferry on the right we look a lot more disciplined in formation. If we need something different near the end Rooney can come along and run around for a bit - just as he has done throughout his whole career

Centre mid picks itself then.  Luongo and Macca I guess. Devera at left back.  Roberts and one of the strikers on the wings?  Jesus its getting a little threadbare isnt it.  PDC's strategy was a small quality squad on good money bolster by loans.  Biting us on the arse a little now.

Debatable IMO

What isn't debatable is that he probably has a minimum of 50 career appearances for us in centre mid that are better than anything he has shown on right.  He played fine on Tuesday but it clearly isnt his best position

Ferry was pretty good in the first half at MK knitting everything together in the middle. I'd say that's the only really decent 45 minutes he's played under K-mac (even if everything went to shit in the second).

Ideally, I'd like us to play Ferry and McCormack as our CM pairing and play an actual winger on the wing, but if Kmac prefers 3 CM's playing in the 4-4-2 then it would surely make more sense to switch Ferry, clearly our most gifted CM but lacking the attributes to play on the wing, around with McCormack, who while a loss to the centre midfield is still much better suited to playing on the wing than Ferry, as he's shown plenty of times getting forward from full back.
