Unpaid fee stalls Town takeover

THE sale of Swindon Town was unable to be completed yesterday as members of the incoming board tried to resolve an issue revolving around unpaid fees for a loan player, the Advertiser understands.

I'm guessing the new owners are just putting together a finance plan to pay off the outstanding £500 over the next 5 years.

If this story is true, then for the second time this morning I find myself laughing for all the wrong reasons.

Not going to knock the bloke too much, But when this is all sorted, I'd love to know what Mr Black's definition of a car crash is. Until that's answered I certainly wont be accepting any lifts off of him.

Seems ridiculous that what we assume is a small amount is holding this up. Surely the new lot just want to clear that and get in as soon as possible.

So this unpaid fee is likely the reason for no loan players being sanctioned and not the takeover then?

This is a pain in the Arse but unfortunately part of the process of Due Diligence.
With Both Parties signing an NDA. They go through the liability each has, and who is going to pick up the cost.
The normal process for the buyer is that if for example there is a liability of 50K then the cost of purchasing is reduced.
As someone said earlier a lot of red tape a bit like buying a house

Interesting, as I mentioned on the other thread Leeds made at least 1 loan signing during the FPP test period so assume there is another matter.

I have heard thats it is for Giles Coke, who we returned early from his loan and Sheff Weds want the wages paid for the duration of the loan even though he was returned early because of injury.

Totally agree, he's really come out of the last few weeks quite poorly.  Most will remember him for that than the good that he did.
