I'm returning to the UK in 2 weeks time and bringing back 2 vehicles with me. I have to re-register them and get them a new MOT

Both have speedometers showing kms only. Will they have to have their speedometers changed to show miles to pass the MOT

I've had conflicting advice and can find nothing on any website

There is a question from Rick in Swindon here mentioning the speedometer (are you Rick?!)

http://www.ukmot.com/malcolm.asp

Given the answer on the speedometer, I'm pretty sure the odometer in KM will be just fine Smiley

Jeez, they actually answered my question!!

Yet someone who bought an Irish reg van had to pay for the speedo to be changed in the UK

Spose I'll find out for sure when I present it/them

Best answer I found was MOT should be OK, but if you need to SVA then you might be buggered. Ring up and ask?!

It doesn't get tested on the MOT.
