Wes concerned by narrow defeats

SWINDON Town must kick the habit of losing by single-goal margins in games they dominate if they’ve got any chance of securing a League One play-off place.

Wes should take a leaf out of Jose Luis Chilavert's book, or shut up. Chilavert scored 45 goals from 623 games as a keeper in club football, and 8 in 74 games for Paraguay.

He could start by working on taking pens... I think we've a 100% miss record this season. Free kicks aren't too hot either, so room to practise there.

Then coming forward for last minute equalisers when a goal down for which he gets plenty of chances. I've been going 50+ years and still to see an STFC keeper score....sort it out Wes.

Jimmy Glass, only on the TV though, does that count?

Not quite...but it does show Glass had potential as a striker, just not as a keeper.

Kenny Allen got very close in the Championship winning season under Macari, one kick launched from the Town End saw the opposition keeper scrambling back as on one bounce 25 yards out it went about a foot or so over the bar.

No idea who it was against though.

I saw Paul Robinson score against us, does that nearly count? Still bloody annoyed by that even now, especially as Bart had been sent off for a soft second yellow (or maybe it was the first that was soft, I forget)

He got booked for handball, when inside the area. Second yellow was for a foul on Smith, and was a fair enough shout.

I knew when the leeds game went to penalties that it was not going to end well, Robinson just seemed to fill the goal somehow.  it was a disapdointing end to an amazing evening.

was that when everyone was singing we're going up your going down.  Leeds fans are so easy to wind up arent they
