Looking at he Adver tonight i see that Ron Inglis(DJ Ron Travolta)sadly passed away yesterday.

Now i didn't know him but i am sure he was a regular at the County Ground for many years.....i maybe wrong and apologies if i am.

Anyway it got me thinking how we see those familar faces at footy for years but know zilch about them....and no doubt see some of them again in the coming months.

Shame this. Is this the same bloke who drank in the CGH? Was also known affectionatley as "Paki Ron" by his mates if it's the bloke I'm thinking of.

Ron got a one season ban from the County Ground for doing the Dying Fly (Tiswas) in the centre circle before the kick off on the first game of the season back in the 70s.
Then on a night out in Chippenham  on the home journey we (his mates) left him asleep on the train and he awoke in the sidings in Gloucester.
Always had a laugh with Ron, generous character. He liked his beer, fags (when he smoked) and fancied himself with the ladies.
A big guy with a big heart, will be missed by all who knew him.

What happened to the tea towel heads? Do they still go sans tea-towel.

Ron Travolta stood in the Town End for many a year and when John Trollope boke the appearance record Ron ran from the TE and gave him an award before the game. The lads he stood with were a bit mad to say the least. He was a good lad.
Rick Wakeman is still around in his usual seat but has been sheared.

His missus seems to suggest he was a mad daft Man City fan -

“It would have been his birthday today too and I had bought him a Manchester City shirt with Ron and number one on the back – he was mad about them. It’s sad he will never see it now"

Well I stood with him in the Townend for many a year. However the world is full of Manure/City fans who couldn't find Manchester on a map.
