You sure it also applies to us robbing PL clubs of their talent. Would have thought there would have been a law against it

So if we as a category 3 club sell a player who has been with us since the age of 9 then the most we can collect would be £72k and if we managed to get into the level above as a category 2 academy then the fee would come to £102k.

That's ignoring the potential add ons under EPPP, which can lead to additional payments in excess of £1m.

i was thinking about this: what stops a FL club from outsourcing its youth development to another company that sits outside of the EPPP

3rd party ownership?

even if the other company is totally separate and the players remain with what company until they are due to sign a pro contract, and any players who are kept on after 17 are 'sold' to the club.

Not sure what you think the benefit of this would be? A company that sits outside the EPPP (i.e not under the jurisdiction of the FA and PL / FL) doesn't have any ownership rights nor hold over a player that would result in payment being made.

i'm sure the powers that be would find a way of shutting it down, also if no contract existed between club and said entity (presumably there couldn't be one under the rules) then the seperate company would just end up selling to higher bidders anyway
