A quick search throws up this lot for £3.99pm  http://www.insurance2go.co.uk/iphone-insurance

Any good/any horror stories or alternatives I should look at first (not bank account/home contents)?

Who do you bank with? Most major banks chuck in phone insurance if you have a paid for account.
