In other news: We've withdrawn from the WPS this season. We were scheduled to play Salisbury City.

I suppose with our multiple cup games and FA Youth Cup run this was inevitable.

Pointless news, I know. You'd think most teams would want to kill this competition but I think the Wilts FA have to do it.

I should know this, but isnt the competition a pointless one that is played between Us, Chippenham, Salisbury and Supermarine?

Mind you I did go to the final last year!

I went to semi at the The Ray Mac a few years and questioned what I was doing with my life at that moment in time.

There's only the four clubs involved nowadays but I can recall watching Cuervo over celebrate a goal at Westbury United in the 90's.

I remember going to the Final at Melksham one year.

Town won in a penalty shoot out (hard to believe I know), can't remember who was playing, or even who it was against.

It would have been the early 90's

Had been thinking the League 2 Championship, the FA Cup and the Johnstones would be a unique treble in all history but throw in the Wiltshire Shield and it would have been awesome.  No way would Chips or Supermarine or the mighty whites ever have matched that.

Shame to pull out.  When I took a Gooner to a game recently, although he said it was only the Wiltshire Shield, I loved the green-eyed look of awe he tried to conceal in front of our trophy cabinet.
