Even though he only played a couple of games will always have a soft spot for Tony Grant as far as loanees go.

Firmly in agreement.

Was he the Rodney from Only Fools and Horses lookalike?

But none of those could compare with Nicky Coleman, James Milner, Tim Flowers or Shay Given and for that matter even Chris Ramsey (initially a loan).

When I started reading this I thought it was a wind-up.

Then I realised my mistake, I was mixing up Nicky Coleman & Nicky Tanner.

We got Tanner on loan from Liverpool, and he was one of the worst defenders I have ever seen.

It was after about a 15 pass move, lobbed in from outside the box wth the keeper running out to meet him.

Yes Nicky Tanner was very very crap!

Did he go onto do anything?  From seeing him play for Town a few times he looked very promising.

A few games for Man City and a few years at Burnley I think.

Coleman was quality and i remember Millwall wouldn't let him be sold to us....he went back and never really went on to better things.
