I've been trying to remember another STFC sub scoring a brace after coming on.....I'm sure DV Canio will have the answer at his finger tips.
Reason why I've been trying as I can remember Peter Noble doing it in Jan 68 when he replaced the terrible Barry Lowes v Bury. One sub had only been introduced in 65/66, and I think was initially reserved for use to injured players only....67/68 was the first season for tactical subs.
From memory we were 3 down at the CG to Bury, when Noble came on for his 2nd CG sub appearance and scored a couple of fine trademark headers.. at the time thought he looks a useful type.
That is a very big gap if it's not been done in between....pretty sure no one has scored a hat-trick as a sub, so I suppose it might be quite rare.
Any suggestions gratefully received before DV Canio puts it to bed.

I have a feeling that Brian Wade might have done it away at Brentford - May be wrong though.

Can remember that season when subs were first used and how strange it seemed. August 1965 when Keith Peacock came on for Charlton to replace an injured goalkeeper to be the first sub ever used in the league I think.

I think Chalkie White might have done it against West Brom during a Christmas game in 1987/88. I am sure Lou went for a double substitution after we had thrown away a 2 goal lead and took off Quinny & Bambi

It's true...not a match I remember much about, unlike Ilkeston in the 1st round. I want to keep this to league games as up until recently it was easier for us to beat non league teams.

Brian Wade famously did it in a LC match v Sunderland in 85....equalised in last minute then scored winner in extra time.

Chalkie did indeed do it, in the infamous Bobby Barnes sending off match v WBA. We won 2-0 though.

Must have been the red and white stripes thing that made me think Brentford!
