Didn't want to start a new thread, so thought I'd post in here.

My husband's getting a bit worked up about me and my 7 year old going tomorrow.  He works on site with a load of lads from Oxford and apparently they've said there's loads going from Oxford purely to incite trouble.  I know they'll be a heavy police presence and I'm certainly not missing it, but should I think twice about taking my son?  Is anyone not taking kids who normally would?
You'll be fine.

take him, even the wankers wanting to go just to cause trouble see you they'll ignore you and hopefully all the 'trouble' will be out of sight too.

do you walk to the ground?  if not where do you park?  get inside the ground as early as possible, after the game get away as quick as you can, oxford fans will be held inside the ground for a while after the game so you should be ok.

do not let the idiots - which ever team the 'support' - win.

be cautious, but absolutely take your kid. Smiley

If you're worried dont wear colours.
Wouldn't bank on them not hitting anybody in their way. Seen some of our so called sas do the same mind

I'm taking my 7 year old. I'm following KTs advice mainly because I don't want to get held up in the hassle (the OB frogmarch of the Ox from/towards the station, etc).

I've also banned him from chanting scum scum scum until inside the ground. Wink

Absolutely no idea how it will go.I hope we will win.Don't think it will be close either way.Either 2-0, or 3-1 to us...... , or to them.I have however consumed a large volume of pear cider celebratinf the missus's birthday, so what do I know?

Seen more derby's than I can shake a stick at over the years and whilst the on pitch action more often than not leaves you wondering what the fuss was about, you head and your heart always remind you at the final whistle.

So today, what can we expect? Well this one has been ramped up to levels not seen for years and at the final whistle we may well be glad it's not on the box for a multitude of reasons least the result.

Ok my wish list is

No aggro (inside the ground or outside, I'm 50 FFS I don't need it)
Clean sheet.
Three points.
Full house.
Plenty of singing.
Good football from both teams.
My head says a draw.
My heart says a win.

Therefore 2-0 to the town.

Enjoy one and all.
