Di Canio eyes Constable

PAOLO Di Canio has confirmed that James Constable is a player he would love to have at Swindon and has not ruled out a possible bid for the Oxford striker.

It's not mind games, they are genuinely interested in Constable.

It'll take more than a move for Constable to up the sales figures for the pathetic Adver!!!  The balls-ups in this rag are legendary, last night there was an article about the Cricklade Horse Show on bank holiday, accompanied by a picure of Cricklade High Street stating this was last year's horse show!!

Sounds to me like the Adver asked "would you like Contstable in your team", then printed the answer to unsettle the player/upset Oxscum fans.

Quote
Unfortunately he is contracted until 2014, but I know everything about him and also some other players.
...
He is a Swindon supporter and I hope he can remember that on Sunday
...
It would be good to bring him here but I don’t think Oxford would let him go, especially because we are such big rivals.
...
He is massive and he is a big Swindon fan and Oxford fans know this. So you never know in life and we will see.

“If one day if I could have £100million then you never know, it would be fantastic.

“Especially because he is good player but also because he is a Swindon fan and so he can feel the cause more than others.”

Great stuff Paolo!

edit: Also quite like Gary Rose too.

...We've known this for AGES though. Could've been in the Adver well over a week ago!

But it's all coming to a head now itsn't it? What with the transfer window being 'poised to slam shut' and all that. We will hopefully be actually signing Clarke or Constable (or both??) any day now.

If it is mind games, that's fine. Anything to unsettle them even a little. It all helps.

Do you think he'll pop into the club shop to get a scarf before the game?

I totally agree, he does spice things up with some good articles, soem poor ones too but in the main a vast improvement on the old reports.
