Di Canio unhappy with lack of desire at Dagenham

PAOLO Di Canio conceded that he has overestimated a couple of his players after Town suffered a second successive defeat of the season at Dagenham  Redbridge last night.

Not in those quotes.

It was pretty hard to understand what he meant when he talked after the game.

Partly I thought he was saying a couple of players aren't yet up to being in the team week in week out (Kennedy).

But sometimes when he spoke it sounded like he was on the verge of saying he was wrong about a couple of players. Could have been the same ones, could have been others.

What has happened to Smith. He starts all friendlies then the 1st nmatch against Crewe, then doesn't even get on the subs bench.

Is he injured or one of these over estimated players?

Good question. Nothing official on Timlin's similar demise as well. Most odd.

Smith looked a bit shaky against Crewe, but he was not the only one - and the others have been playing/in the squad.

I thought Smith looked better than Risser against Crewe (goal apart) yet he's probably the first name on the teamsheet - maybe as a consequence of being captain.

I just hope Ferry is really doing the business in training this week, as he may get a chance on Sunday if he impresses. It looks like natural talent is unimportant, but sweating buckets in training is - so get your ass in gear lad!

I wonder if it would help if he changed his name to Simone Ferri.  Wink
