ITALIAN JOB: Straight in at the deep end for Town squad

IF THE faces of some of the Swindon Town players yesterday was anything to go by then it would appear that few anticipated just how highly Paolo Di Canio values fitness.

Norcia altitude 604M  (or in some areas nearby it gets up to  1452m , depends where they are staying I suppose)

Swindon: 74M

High altitude is sometimes defined to begin at 2,400 metres (8,000 ft) above sea level

So no. But Norcia is in an old lake basin, and there are lots of hills around. Not sure they get that hight but they aren't going to be much fun to run up (if PDC goes Macari on them).

This is brilliant.  Shades of Lou Macari's pre-season.

It's a 'base for mountaineering and hiking' according to Wikipedia, so fairly high altitude probably.
