Wilson on contract negotiations In a move to completely and utterly piss of DV, SEVERAL Swindon Town players could see their current contracts run their course before they are offered further deals, according to manager Danny Wilson. "DV hasn't stopped reminding us about losing Paynter for nothing. So me and the board have a bet to see if we cause him to have a mental breakdown this season", said Wilson. An Adver source close to the club revealed the bet is for £1, inspired while Fitton saw the movie Trading Places on a recent business trip to the US on cheapasshit airways. http://www.thisisswindontownfc.co.uk/news/headlines/8806772.Wilson_on_contract_negotiations/?ref=rss

I think Cuthbert's just slipped the memory there, I know it was mentioned that they were talking to his agent last month, so I presume he's on the "renew" list.
Can't say I'd shed many tears to see most of the Out of Contract list go.

I think this is probably aimed at the likes of Dossevi, Pericard, AOB, Timlin etc as opposed to Cuthbert and Douglas. I hope so anyway.

Dougie has a an automatic renewal which is triggered when he reaches 25 appearances I think.

Quite right too with the names listed there. There's no point offering contracts to players who haven't performed this season, especially when them not performing has left us dangerously close to the relegation zone. If we were in the top half I'm sure a few more would have been offered something by now, but in the current circumstances players need to go out and show their worth, and I suppose DW is hoping that'll be something which will push our performances up a level.

Quite frankly, Sheehan aside (possibly), I will be pissed off if any of these players are offered contract renewals. None of them are good enough or have performed well enough to warrant it. Lose them and free up some of the wage bill.
