Reminds me of Rodney from Only Fools & Horses. Reckon it will be a disastrous appointment for Labour, too left wing and no chance of ever winning a general election for them. He's their equivalent of William Hague, the party faithful like him but no other fucker does (or will).

Politics really is about who you're least angry with at the time, isn't it.

As Harold Wilson famously said a week is a long time in politics....an election is nearly 5  years away....a lot can happen in that time.  These are interesting times politically, for example Miliband is well to the right of Vince Cable and he's in government.
